Cruisers Camp!

June 16-21

Cruise with us around camp as we test out some of our new mountain biking trails! All of our groups will get to travel to the Virginia Creeper trail to bike the 17 miles from White Top Station to Damascus, stopping to enjoy ice cream along the way! This week will be biking intensive, so make sure your child is comfortable on a bike before signing them up. Campers are welcome to bring their personal bikes/helmets if they would like to, however Holston has plenty of bikes and helmets available for campers to use throughout the week. If you’re unsure whether or not this session is right for your child, feel free to contact program director, Madeline Horne, mhorne@holstoncenter.org

The beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains that HPCRC calls home contains many hiking and biking trails for people of all ages to explore and enjoy. In addition to the classic Holston activities (rock-climbing, worship, arts and crafts, archery, swimming, paddling, and more), campers this week will adventure into the nearby wilderness on wheels to explore God’s creation, develop skills, form friendships, and make memories to last a lifetime.

All campers this week will stay in HPCRC’s Rustic facilities with open-air cabins and cook shelters. Rustic camp offers a recently renovated bathhouse with separate bathrooms and hot showers. Campers will assist their counselors with meal prep, cooking over a fire, and clean-up. Campers are supervised by college-aged counselors who identify as role-models. Counselors are trained in First Aid and other safety procedures, behavior management practices, recreation facilitation, and Christian education.
