Wheels and Thrills Camp
This summer, campers can bike The Virginia Creeper National Recreation Trail. The “Creeper Trail” is what remains from the removal of a narrow gauge railroad that connected Whitetop Station at the Virginia-North Carolina border, through Damascus, to Abingdon, Virginia. We will start at White Top and coast leisurely down the beautiful wooded trail to Damascus, enjoying a picnic lunch by Laurel Creek. Although the Creeper Trail is very easy, campers should be proficient at safely riding a bicycling to enroll in this camp. See Creeper Trail video.
Explorer and Wilderness hikers will join the other campers for campus activities while staying in our Rustic Camp. Rustic Camp is a short distance from Main Camp–over the hill and past the Tree House and Eagles Nest. Rustic Campers sleep in hammocks in screened-in cabins. They learn to work together to prepare and cook their own food. Rustic Campsites use a bath house with hot showers available.
